Well, word on the street is that my illustration has been chosen to adorn the big yellow GERTIE bus of Gabriola! I am thrilled and excited to be a part of  GERTIE and it’s transformation. I have worked very hard to ensure all aspects of Gabriola lifestyle have been reflected in the artwork and hope it will bring a smile to faces whenever GERTIE passes by!

Some Really Cool Stuff

Tuesday, October 16th, 2012

I am so PLEASED to finally share with you some of my very newest work hot off the press….for the past few months I have been working away in my studio with a new technique which I am hoping to incorporate into my next picture book. Using a variety of mixed media techniques, I have been working hard to work out all the kinks with this new body of work and so far so good….here are just a few sneek peeks into what I have been working on. Keep checking back over the next few months because I plan to keep posting the images as I progress with the work. All of the images shown here are small pieces which have been created in order to perfect the technique, if you are interested in any of the pieces you see here, I’m happy/sorry to say they have all been sold. But keep checking back because I will post all new pieces as they develop.

Oodles and Oodles of Paintings!!

Wednesday, November 10th, 2010

So I have finished laying out most of the illustrations that are finished for Pedro the Pirate on my studio floor and it appears as though I have oodles and oodles of paintings scattered upon my studio floor!! Wow….whew!! This is a lot of work….and to think, I”m not even done yet! Yikes!

But have no fear, I am almost there and the end is in sight. For those of you eagerly waiting for Pedro the Pirate, I am about 4 paintings away from being done….so that’s a positive bit of news. Now…if I could only find where I put my floor :) Anyways, if any of you wanted to see how many illustrations make up a book, well, this is a pretty good example of how many pieces it takes to make a book tick.

Pedro- It’s Almost Done!

Friday, October 22nd, 2010

For those of your following the “Pedro Saga” , I thought I should show you one of the most recent pieces I have been working on. I think I have 4 more originals to get done before the deadline so I am frantically working away in my little studio. Yikes!! It feels like I have been painting Pirates and Mermaids for an eternity! This piece reflects a scene where Pedro is rowing a boat to get Captain Crossbones to shore. It’s a funny moment in the story when we realize that poor little Pedro really does do all the work for a very motley crew! Anyways…keep watching as I will be posting some detailed works in progress over the next few days.
